The reason is simple. My 15-year old son thinks it's "beast". One day, while walking through our local shopping centre, Sebastian spotted his ultimate pool gadget and we had to give it a try. I tend to be a little skeptical about marketing hype but "The Tank" had to be introduced to our pool. What's different about the Baracuda MX8? Well, firstly anyone can see that the design is a dramatically new take on pool cleaning. The cleaner moves around the pool on tank-like tracks. These tracks operate independently so the cleaner moves forward and backwards. It does interesting little turns and spins and even manages to climb the walls all the way to the water's surface! There are also two fans under the MX8 that sweep debris into the inlet assembly. All in all, the new Baracuda MX8, in my opinion, does a significantly better job of cleaning my pool and within 12 hours our pool had gone from greenish to a pleasing blue. In addition to that, it looks really cool. No other cleaner has had my boys donning their goggles to get a closer look at how it works! Should you own one? If you are in the market for a new cleaner check it out. It may cost a little more than traditional pool cleaners but I think it's well worth it. If you own a tiled swimming pool the MX8 may not be for you. The smoothness of a tiled surface makes it difficult for the machine to climb the walls. For any other pool I would say go for it.
